Honorees Announced for Third Annual Knicks Legends Night

NEW YORK, January 17, 2011 New York Knickerbockers President of Basketball Operations Donnie Walsh today announced the honorees for the second installment of the "Knicks Legend Awards." In addition, the Dick McGuire Knickerbocker Legacy Award has also been announced.

The following Knicks players will be honored at halftime on Feb. 23:

1950': Harry Gallatin
1960's: Dick Barnett
1970's: Earl Monroe
1980's: Mark Jackson
1990's: John Starks
2000's: Allan Houston

In addition, Mike Saunders has been named the third recipient of the Dick McGuire Knickerbocker Legacy Award, which is given to the individual who exudes the qualities of what it means to be a Knickerbocker: Pride, Tradition & Class. Saunders served as the franchise's Head Athletic Trainer for 27 years from 1978-2005.

Thousands of fans voted at nyknicks.com and knicksnow.com, helping to select the Class of 2011 Legends, who will join the inaugural class of Carl Braun (1940's), Richie Guerin (1950's), Willis Reed (1960's), Walt Frazier (1970's), Bernard King (1980's) and Patrick Ewing (1990's). Saunders joins Dick McGuire (2009) and Cal Ramsey (2010) as Dick McGuire Knickerbocker Legacy Award winners.

Local and national media are invited to speak with New York Knickerbockers legends during a special media availability session. The details include:
